Fort Simpson RCMP investigating ‘presumed sudden death’

An excavator operator is presumed dead after an accident on the NWT’s Mackenzie Highway near Fort Simpson on Tuesday.

RCMP received a report of a “presumed sudden death” on December 8 around 2:30 p.m.

The RCMP are working with the NWT Coroner Service and Worker’s Safety & Compensation Commission as the investigation continues.

The death is not deemed suspicious at this time.
