Cyclist attacked on Yellowknife’s Frame Lake Trail

Police say a cyclist has reported an attack on Yellowknife’s Frame Lake Trail.

A young, male suspect tried to pull the cyclist off their bike at around 5pm on Sunday, May 3, near the wooden bridge taking the trail toward Stanton Hospital.

In a statement, RCMP said a boy described as around 15 years of age, with short, dark hair and complexion, stepped out and “grabbed the handlebars” of the victim’s bike.

“The suspect demanded the victim’s bicycle, grabbed their backpack, and tried to physically pull them off their bicycle,” continued the statement.

“The victim was able to break free from the suspect and pedal away. The victim did not report any injuries to police.”

The suspect, who hasn’t been found, is described as wearing a grey hoody and is around 5 ft 9 in tall, weighing roughly 170 lbs.
