City of Yellowknife introduces curbside giveaway

Yellowknife, NWT – The City of Yellowknife is holding its first ever curbside pick-up event starting this weekend.

Residents are allowed to put unwanted items that are in reasonable condition out on the curb starting Friday night.

The city wants folks to label the items as ‘free’ so others can take them.

It’ll be like one giant garage sale Saturday.

This weekend also marks the beginning of Amnesty Week.

Yellowknifers can drop off unwanted items at the dump without having to pay the $10 tipping fee.

The dump is also accepting household hazardous waste Saturday afternoon.
