Two men, including a Yellowknife 18-year-old, face charges of attempted murder after Sunday’s Fraser Arms shooting.

Teenager Brendan Paul and Langley, BC, resident Travis William Campbell, 26, are both charged with two counts of attempted murder.

They were arrested inside an SUV, allegedly driven by Campbell, that led police on a high-speed chase through the city on Sunday night.

Only one man was reported injured following the shooting, heard by many residents in the vicinity of Yellowknife’s Fraser Arms apartments. He had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder.

On Monday, police said they believed that to have been a “targeted attack” and were looking into possible gang ties.

RCMP now say they have enough evidence to charge both suspects with two counts of attempted murder.

“As this investigation has unfolded, there is evidence to suggest that more than one person was targeted in this incident,” RCMP Const. Elenore Sturko told Moose FM.
