Yellowknife Santa Claus parade winners announced

The City of Yellowknife is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Santa Claus Parade.  The theme was “Winter Wonderland” and at an impressive 27 registrants, the judges had their work cut out for them.  The winners are as follows:

Commercial: Tlicho Investment Corporation

School: Yellowknife Education District No. 1

Non-Profit: Yellowknife Mountain Bike Club

The winner of the Non-Profit category will receive the first annual Roland Gosselin “Ho Ho Ho award”, a $500 prize made possible by a generous donation from Roland’s family honoring the longtime resident who was best known as Santa Claus in many parades and events from years passed.

Warm temperatures and an almost record number of floats made for an enjoyable evening for everyone in attendance.  The City of Yellowknife wishes to thank all participants, residents, and First Transit for making this happen. It’s never too early to start planning – the theme for 2020 will be “Your Favorite Christmas Movie”.
