A close call for one truck driver in recent Yellowknife motor vehicle accident

A recent Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) on Franklin Avenue in Yellowknife luckily left one truck driver uninjured and disrupted traffic in the capital city for a short period of time.

“At approximately 3:13 p.m., on Thursday, November 14th, 2019, the Yellowknife RCMP attended a motor vehicle incident on 50th Avenue,” Plourde said. “The driver of a parked vehicle opened its door when a bus was coming in the adjacent lane. The bus’s mirror hit the vehicle’s door.”

Plourde says no one sustained injuries during this incident and no charges have been laid.

Task Force Grizzly push full steam ahead after braving weeks of 24/7 extreme cold

The government of Canada has announced a plan to extend funding for the Inuit Child First Initiative. In response, Education Minister Caitlin Cleveland said that it is a positive sign. The “Going the Extra Mile for Seniors” Awards ceremony will celebrate “650 years of collective service.”In an announcement today, Colleen Wellborn, Chair of the AVENS Board of Directors said the event highlights dedicated staff, whose contributions are “vital” to the older adult community.
