Whitehorse RCMP seek armed robbery suspects

The Whitehorse RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in an armed robbery of a gas station on 4th Avenue.

On November 7, at about 1:45 a.m., two males with their faces covered entered the gas station and demanded money from the cash register. Both suspects were armed; one with a wooden table leg, the other with an edged weapon. An undisclosed amount of money was provided and the suspects fled the area. Immediate attempts by the RCMP failed to locate the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

The suspects can be described as follows:

  • Both Male;
  • Both with a darker skin tone;
  • Both standing between 5’5 and 5’6
  • Both weighing between 150 and 200 pounds;
  • Suspect 1 is wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes with white soles; and
  • Suspect 2 is wearing a pink Billabong hoodie with black pants and white shoes.

With high lead at 31 of 38 NWT schools, more public site tests to be “determined”

Testing results show another school in the territory with elevated levels of lead in water. Since comprehensive testing of schools across the N.W.T. began this fall, 31 school sites out of 38 announced to date have tested positive for elevated levels of lead. This year the operation exceeded its annual distance range by thousands of kilometres and took place over an extended period beginning in February. Operation NANOOK-NUNALIVUT 2026 took place from February to April 2026 and included approximately 1,300 armed forces personnel.
