RCMP officers seize firearms and ammunition from Yellowknife home after call for service

There were some tense moments yesterday on 53rd Street in downtown Yellowknife after the RCMP received a call for service.

A witness on the scene told Moose News that a man was threatening to harm himself outside a residence and then proceeded inside his home where there were weapons present.

Julie Plourde is the Media Relations Officer with the Northwest Territories RCMP in Yellowknife.

“At approximately 1:01 p.m., on Wednesday, October 30, the Yellowknife RCMP received a call for service at a residence,” Plourde said. “During their investigation, RCMP officers seized firearms and ammunition.”

No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
