#ShopYK Passport Program is underway

The City of Yellowknife and Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce have once again partnered to support Yellowknife businesses with the launch of the #ShopYK Passport program which officially got underway October 21st.

From now until December 2nd, collect passport stamps at participating Yellowknife businesses and at City Hall. Earn one stamp for every $20 spent and customers may receive 1 stamp without purchase.

Participants who collect thirty stamps can enter their passport into a draw box at any participating business to have their names entered for a chance to win a $3000 shopping spree, to be spent locally. There is no limit to the number of passports that can be entered into the grand prize draw.

Mayor Rebecca Alty stated that #ShopYK has become an annual celebration of local business and that there’s no better time to kick off the program than during Small Business Week.

“I encourage residents to get involved, shop locally and have fun entering the competition!”

Last year $816,000 was spent locally throughout the campaign. There are forty-six businesses total participating in this year’s Passport Program.

Once completed, the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce will pick up passports on December 3rd, 4th and 5th. The grand prize draw for the $3000 cash prize will be held on December 6th.
