Multiple arrests for drug trafficking in Whitehorse

The Whitehorse RCMP have arrested three people for drug trafficking.

On September 29, the Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the corner of 4th and 2nd Avenue. A search of one of the vehicles led to the seizure of:

  • 29.8 grams of suspected cocaine;
  • 121 grams of cannabis;
  • Drug paraphernalia.

Ross McLeod, 43, was arrested for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession for the Purpose of Selling under the Cannabis Act. Mr. McLeod appeared in court and was released on conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 16.

In a second instance, the Whitehorse RCMP conducted a traffic stop on 4th Avenue in the early hours of October 1. The traffic stop resulted in the seizure of an amount of suspected crack cocaine and $540 in cash.

The driver, a 32-year-old female, was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and is scheduled to appear in Whitehorse Territorial Court on November 11.

The early morning of October 2,  resulted in the third arrest for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. A traffic stop on 2nd Avenue resulted in the seizure of:

  • 12 grams of suspected cocaine;
  • 9.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine;
  • Drug paraphernalia;
  • $360 in cash.

Lyle Goodings, 60, was arrested and charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Mr. Goodings has been remanded into custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for October 16.
