Police reckon they’ve found man behind Yellowknife car crimes

Did someone break into your vehicle in Yellowknife recently?

Police have arrested and charged a man over “a number of thefts from vehicles throughout the city”.

Yellowknife resident Christopher Abel, 31, was arrested after police received a report of a man “rummaging through a parked vehicle in the Rat Lake area” in the early hours of Wednesday, April 15.

Police say they found and arrested Abel shortly afterward.

He faces 11 charges, among them five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, five counts of mischief, and one count of breach of probation.
