Iqaluit RCMP are currently on scene at a residence in the 200 Block of housing in the Lower Iqaluit/Happy Valley area within the City of Iqaluit.
The RCMP Critical Incident response team has been engaged and are currently working to negotiate a peaceful resolution to this event. The incident involves a potential armed and barricaded subject with several others within the residence.
Iqaluit Detachment members supported by City of Iqaluit By-Law have the area contained and are diverting traffic from the area. Further information will be distributed as this event unfolds or is resolved.
