Inuvik RCMP seize cash and drug dealer scale; two suspects charged

A digital scale with suspected crack cocaine residue, cellular devices and a large sum of Canadian currency were seized by Inuvik RCMP following a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation.

Inuvik RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) received reports of drug activity in a residence. Surveillance was conducted and, on September 25, 2019, a search warrant was executed at the residence.

During the search, RCMP found a digital scale with suspected crack cocaine residue, cellular devices and a large sum of Canadian currency. RCMP arrested and charged two suspects.

Clara Aviugana, a 45-year-old woman from Inuvik, NT is charged with Trafficking Schedule 1 Cocaine.

Moosa Khan, a 19-year-old from Kelowna, BC, is charged with Proceeds of Crime over $5000, Trafficking Schedule 1 Cocaine and Possession of Schedule 1 Cocaine.

Moosa Khan was in court in Yellowknife on Monday, September 30. Clara Aviugana is scheduled to appear in Inuvik Territorial court on November 19, 2019.
