Nunavut RCMP lay child exploitation charges

A man from Nunavut has been charged with child exploitation.

On September 23, the Nunavut RCMP began an investigation into allegations against Craig Dunphy of Iqaluit, Nunavut.

As a result of this investigation by Iqaluit Detachment General Investigation Section and General Duty members with the assistance of the newly formed Special Victims’ Unit, Dunphy, 55 was arrested and charged with the
following offences:

  • Two counts of luring a child,
  • One count of procuring a child,
  • One count of sexual exploitation of a young person.

This investigation is ongoing and the RCMP are encouraging anyone who may have information on Mr. Dunphy’s activities or who may have been a victim of Mr. Dunphy to please come forward to the Iqaluit RCMP in person or via phone at 867-979-0123.

A court date has not yet been set.
