Julie Plourde is the Media Relations Officer with the Northwest Territories RCMP.

“At approximately 3:56 p.m., on Wednesday, September 25, Yellowknife RCMP received a call for service on 49th Street regarding a man who stated he had been hit by a vehicle,” Plourde said. “The man was not injured but was transported by the City of Yellowknife Emergency Medical Services to the hospital as a precaution.”

A witness told Moose News that a black Dodge full-size truck was seen speeding away from the scene.

“At this point, the Yellowknife RCMP doesn’t have evidence supporting that a hit and run had taken place,” Plourde said. “The investigation is ongoing.”

The injured man walked to the awaiting ambulance with some help from EMS workers who responded to the call.
