Hay River RCMP asking for public assistance to locate missing youth

The Hay River RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old.

The youth was reported missing on Wednesday, September 18 and was last seen Monday, September 16 in the area of the public library in Hay River.

The youth is described as First Nation, with short brown hair, brown eyes, measuring 5’8” (177 cm) and weighing approximately 136 lbs. (62 kg).

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the youth is asked to call Hay River RCMP at 874-1111, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 nwtnutips.com, (click on “submit a web tip”) or text: “nwtnutips” plus your message to 274637.

Despite the N.W.T. 's long history of mining, there have been few applications and leaders at the organization say a lack of awareness of the laws and lack of accessibility to the legal language of the water acts is part of the reason why.

“The sessions will provide an update on the Mackenzie Valley Highway Project, including an update on the environmental assessment process and timelines for regulatory milestones. Updates will also include planned engagement on multiple topics beginning in 2026 and ongoing through construction of the Project.
