Hay River RCMP asking for public assistance to locate missing youth

The Hay River RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old.

The youth was reported missing on Wednesday, September 18 and was last seen Monday, September 16 in the area of the public library in Hay River.

The youth is described as First Nation, with short brown hair, brown eyes, measuring 5’8” (177 cm) and weighing approximately 136 lbs. (62 kg).

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the youth is asked to call Hay River RCMP at 874-1111, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 nwtnutips.com, (click on “submit a web tip”) or text: “nwtnutips” plus your message to 274637.

Researchers said while levels at the mouth of the Liard River rose 1.3 metres in the last 24 hours, the Hay River remains at record lows for this time of year.While water levels in major rivers currently remain at historic lows, that could change due to a number of factors including weather and water that is due coming from the south.
