Councillors elected for Dettah and Ndilo

The preliminary results in the Yellowknives Dene First Nation election for Dettah and Ndilo Band Council that took place on Monday, August 26th have been announced.

The five candidates elected to represent Dettah are:

  • Kateri Lynn who received the most votes with 204,
  • Liza Pieper who received 148 votes,
  • Jessica DeLeary who received 145 votes,
  • Bobby Drygeese who received 140 votes,
  • Jonas Sangris who received 132 votes.

The five candidates elected to represent Ndilo are:

  • Justina Black who received 154 votes,
  • Elizabeth Liske who received 147 votes,
  • Lena Ann Black who received 143 votes
  • Cece Beaulieu who received 142 votes,
  • William Lines who received 116 votes.

Seven of the elected 10 members are women. Nine candidates ran for five positions for Dettah and 12 candidates ran for five positions for Ndilo.

The 21 candidates spoke at sperate forums over the past month. On August 14th, the Ndilo candidates spoke at the Ndilo gym and on August 15th, the Dettah candidates spoke at the Chief Drygeese Centre.
