Long-time resident enters Range Lake MLA race

Range Lake has their 2nd MLA candidate. Hughie Graham has announced in a press release today that he will be running against incumbent Caroline Cochrane to be the MLA for Range Lake in the upcoming 2019 Territorial election.

Graham says two pillars of his campaign are collaboration and communication.

“I don’t see enough of either. The lack of communication and collaboration puts us at risk as a Territory both socially and economically.’

The new candidate brought forward issues he says will take generations to solve in which he says needs to be acted on now.

“Some of these issues I see immediately are infrastructure, exploration and reconciliation. We need leaders to tackle these issues and push the Territory forward. I am that leader and decision maker that can be both effective in collaboration and communication.”

A resident of Range Lake for 22 years, Graham has served as President of the NWT Chamber of Commerce where he participated on the NWT Economic Opportunities Strategy governance team as well as the Poverty Free NWT steering committee. Graham works as a public servant with the GNWT Department of Infrastructure, he has worked in the private sector in commercial real estate, electronic sales and has lived in Yellowknife for 23 years.
