The City of Yellowknife has lifted their open air fire ban. The ban was implemented on Friday, July 19th. The open air fire ban was for the City, as well as for Fred Henne and Yellowknife River Territorial Parks. The mandatory ban included the use of an approved fire pit within the city.
The city has stated that if extremely dry forestry conditions return, the ban will be reinstated.
