MLA Michael Nadli granted bail, back in court on April 21

Deh Cho MLA Michael Nadli has been granted bail following his court appearance on a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

The 50-year-old politician, whose hometown is Fort Providence, was charged in connection with an incident that took place in the town on Sunday afternoon.

Few details of that incident have been revealed, but police say it ended with one person being taken to the town’s health centre for treatment.

Nadli’s bail was set at $1,500. He must abide by various conditions while on bail, including living in Yellowknife rather than Fort Providence.

Nadli may only travel to Fort Providence with permission from a bail supervisor, unless there to attend court, and must notify RCMP when he arrives in, and departs, the community.

His next court appearance has been scheduled for April 21.
