First Air rec hockey and Super Soccer winners crowned

Yellowknife hosted major hockey and soccer tournaments on the Easter holiday weekend.

More than 40 teams from across the NWT and Nunavut took part in the First Air Yellowknife rec hockey tournament.

Polar United were the winners of A division, while Deline took B division and Young Chiefs were the winners in C division.

D division’s champions were Whati, while Midget Marlies topped E division.

At the fieldhouse, Rankin emerged as winners of the 10-team Super Soccer tournament.

Rankin defeated favourites Behchoko 5-4 in an intense semi-final en-route to overall victory.
