Two vehicles set on fire, police looking or witnesses

Yellowknife RCMP is looking for witnesses for an investigation involving two suspicious vehicle fires that occurred on Con Road early Saturday morning.

At around 2:20 a.m., on Saturday, May 25th, police officers were called to the parking lot of Aurora Heights apartment building, on Con Road where officers found two vehicles engulfed in flames. Firefighters attended the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. The vehicle fires appeared to be intentionally set.

A man fleeing the area was observed, he was wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. Police Dog Services attended the site and processed the area. There were no injuries and the file remains active and ongoing.

“Yellowknife RCMP are encouraging anyone who may have noticed something in the area of Con Road early Saturday morning to come forward” states Staff Sergeant Yannick Hamel, Operations Manager for Yellowknife RCMP.
