Public’s assistance wanted involving possible stabbing

Inuvik RCMP received a complaint in the early morning hours of May 10th of an altercation that resulted in one man being injured. They are requesting that anyone in Inuvik who may have heard or seen an altercation that morning is asked to contact them with any information they may be able to provide.

The police attended the area of Union Street in Inuvik and located a man who appeared to have been injured with an “edged weapon” during an altercation. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located and arrested one adult man. The investigation is ongoing and no names will be released at this time. RCMP stated they have no reason to believe there is any danger to the public and that this was an isolated incident.
