Conservatives, Greens gather nominees ahead of federal election

While the federal 2019 election is still months away, parties are preparing to choose their candidates for the NWT riding.

After the Conservative Party of Canada opened their nomination period Monday, Yellowknifer Yanick D’Aigle announced he is running for the conservative nomination.

The Green Party of Canada is holding a vote Friday, where members will choose between Paul Falvo and William Gagnon for the party’s NWT candidate.

Incumbent Michael McLeod announced in early January he will be the Liberal Party of Canada candidate.

The NDP have yet to announce nominees or candidates.
