Police say a man has been found dead in a downtown Yellowknife alley, but the circumstances are not thought to be suspicious.
RCMP found the man’s body in the 5000 block of the alley between 48 Street and 49 Street – near Moose FM’s building – having received a call just after 8am on Good Friday.
The man has been identified locally as Raymond Simpson, a 43-year-old from Gamètì.
Police – who have not confirmed the man’s identity – say they don’t yet know how he died, but their initial investigation “has not uncovered any evidence of foul play”.

That investigation continues, with the help of the chief coroner’s office.
