Folk on the Rocks will be kicking off this year’s festival with Warm the Rocks performances by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan as well as Welder’s Daughter.
Yamantaka // Sonic Titan, who recently released their third album DIRT, draw their sound from various inspirations, including their Asian-Canadian and Indigenous heritage. “Within the exploration of their various sounds, the group demonstrates how humanity continues to succumb to its worst impulses: madness, hubris and greed.”
Welder’s Daughter has been touring full time since 1999. This group is known for having something for everyone in their repertoire and have become “Canada’s house band of the North.”
