Residents rush to book summer campsites

It’s another year of record-breaking bookings at NWT campsites.

In the first two days of the opening of online reservations, over 1,600 bookings were made at campgrounds across the territory. That’s a 17 per cent increase from last year says the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment.

Fred Henne is the NWT’s most popular park with 669 bookings, followed by Prelude, Reid Lake and Fort Providence territorial parks.

89 per cent of those who visited the NWT parks website last week were Canadians, with over 50 per cent of those NWT residents.
