Public assistance wanted involving suspicious death in Behchoko

NT RCMP Major Crimes Unit is asking for public assistance on the suspicious death in Behchoko that happened at around 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8th. A man was found unresponsive and was transported to the Behchoko Health Centre where he was declared deceased and police began investigating the sudden death.

Local residents are being asked by the RCMP to come forward with anything they may have witnessed on Monday, April 8th, between the hours of 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. in the residential area near the Kǫ Go Cho Complex.

“There could be person, or persons, who may have seen something suspicious in the morning of Monday, April 8. We are asking the residents of Behchoko to report any suspicious or unusual activity to help our investigators” states Marie York-Condon, NT RCMP Media Relations.

NT RCMP is working with NWT Coroner Service in an investigation into the suspicious death. The investigation is in the early stages with no further information at this time.
