GNWT wants your ideas on post-secondary education

The GNWT wants to hear from NWT residents on their ideas for post-secondary education in the territory.

A survey on the topic is open now, those who want to participate can do so either online, at an education department service centre or with a government service officer. The survey asks what kind of training and research residents think a new polytechnic should offer, as well as supports needed for students.

The information will form part of a framework the government says it will release this summer. Caroline Cochrane urged residents to share their thoughts.

“A vision for postsecondary education in the Northwest Territories needs to be reflective of the hopes, dreams and priorities of our residents. I encourage everyone to take the time to complete the survey – it’s important for both our generation and for future generations.”

The survey is open to all people in the NWT until April 23. The GNWT will also be holding free speaking events on post-secondary education in Inuvik, Fort Smith and Yellowknife this month.
