The Yellowknife Public Library wants to see your favourite photo.
In a contest running until April 2, the library is asking Yellowknifers to either drop off or email in their favourite photo to [email protected]. All photos submitted will be displayed in the library once the contest is done.
Organizers are keeping the contest parameters as broad and inclusive as possible.
“We want to be able to have anyone of any age participate, anyone who is either a master of photography or this is maybe the ‘first picture I’ve ever snapped’ type thing, to be able to enter the draw,” says library technician Kris Solowy.
The library has heard interest from local schools and community groups who work with newcomers, Solowy adds.
Everyone who submits a photo has the chance to win a swag bag with photography books and other YPL swag.
Photos will be displayed in the library from April 2nd to May 20th. Depending on how many entries come in, Solowy says the photos could be displayed together or all around the library with a map to guide visitors.
