Woman sexually assaulted in Hay River high rise, say police

Police in Hay River say a woman has been sexually assaulted in the town’s high-rise apartment block.

RCMP say they found a woman ‘unresponsive’ in a hallway on the building’s 12th floor after responding to a call on Saturday, March 21.

The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to hospital, treated and released later that day.

Police say they believe she was sexually assaulted and are asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever may have been behind the attack.

Investigators believe the assault happened between 8.30am and 9am on Saturday. If you saw or heard anything unusual in the vicinity of the high rise on Saturday morning, call Hay River RCMP on (867) 874-1111 or Crimestoppers on 1-800-222-8477.
