It was a busy election day for the hamlets of Northwest Territories. Nine communities saw their councils official through an election or acclamation.  Sachs Harbour, Fort McPherson, Fort Resolution, Fort Providence, Enterprise, Paulatuk, Aklavik, Tuktoyaktuk, and Ulukhaktok will all experience a new council.

In Fort Providence, Danny Beaulieu was elected mayor over his three competitors, including current mayor Samuel Gargan. Ronald Bonnetrouge, Linda Croft, James Ben Bonnetrouge, and Shirley Gargan make up the four council positions. Ten candidates ran for the four council seats.

In Fort Resolution, two of the three council positions saw a council member re-elected. Councillors Brandie Miersch and Angela McKay were re-elected to their seats and will be joined by new council member Elizabeth Ann McKay.

Enterprise has a less exciting day yesterday as their results was already known to them. All four council positions were acclaimed. Barbara Louise Hart, Daniel Jordan Harley, Craig McMaster and Bruce Proud round out the council seats.
