Yellowknife RCMP have made several charges on a local teen. At around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5th, RCMP attended a residence to arrest a 19-year-old teen for failure to comply with condition of undertaking or recognizance. The teen fled the scene when the officer advised him. During the chase, the teen continued to resist arrest and assaulted a police officer. During the arrest, the RCMP officer used a taser, which was not effective.

Tristan Rabesca was arrested and received medical attention for minor injuries resulting from the chase. Rabesca appeared in court on December 6 and is charged with failure to comply with condition of undertaking or recognizance, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer

During this event, RCMP states that they obtained a video recording made by a by-stander, with their permission, as evidence to support the judicial process. The cell phone was immediately returned to the owner.
