NTPC investigating after fire at Inuvik gas plant

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) says there was a small fire at its gas plant in Inuvik on Friday afternoon.

The fire was reportedly contained in an exhaust pipe and was safely extinguished by employees before the Inuvik Fire Department arrived.

No employees were injured as a result of the fire and an initial assessment indicates there was no major damage done to equipment.

The NPTC says it will conduct a” full investigation” to determine the cause of the incident.
