Yellowknife RCMP seek help finding missing woman

The Yellowknife RCMP are asking the public to help find a missing woman.

23-year-old Raven Decoine-Wood was reported missing yesterday.

She was last seen in Edmonton on July 12th, but was last known to be in Yellowknife.

She is of Métis and Caucasian appearance with black hair with blonde streaks, blue eyes, 5 foot 6 inches, 150 lbs, and has distinctive chest tattoos of a diamond and a heart.

Anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

Remember that you can remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers and if your information leads to an arrest, you may be entitled to a cash reward.

Housing NWT to take over operations of 2 YK shelters

Next year, Housing NWT will take over operations of two Yellowknife shelters including the Sobering Centre and the Yellowknife Day Shelter. Currently, the facilities are being managed by the health and social services authority. Housing NWT currently oversees shelter services in other regions of the NWT. According to an announcement released by the GNWT, the change is part of a move towards a “more coordinated” approach to homelessness across the territory.
