Yellowknife RCMP have charged the driver who crashed into the front windows of Sushi Cafe a month ago
Yellowknife RCMP have charged the driver who crashed into Sushi Cafe on Franklin Avenue in the early morning on Sunday, July 15th.
A White Ford F-150 pick-up truck crashed into the front windows and caused significant damage to the restaurant. No one was inside the building at the time. The truck was seized by RCMP for further analysis by G Division’s Forensic Identification Section.
In July, the RCMP investigation into the incident determined that the truck was stolen, but the RCMP said they don’t believe the incident was intentional to the location.
As a result of the investigation, Kimberley Ongahak, 36, of Yellowknife has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and taking a vehicle without consent.
She has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on September 11.
