The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating after a fire at Ace Enterprises’ Quarry
On Thursday afternoon the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) received a call from a bystander about a fire at the Ace Enterprises’ Quarry on Curry Drive.
The YKFD responded with five personnel on Pump 1, Tanker 1 and Medic 6. Upon arrival, the YKFD noted a large amount of smoke and flame coming from an asphalt processing facility. All workers were cleared from the area because of large amounts of combustible liquids on the scene. No injuries were reported from the incident.
Once the fire burned down to a tolerable level, the fire was extinguished using AFFF foam.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
