An athlete from Hay River is making moves.
The former Northern Capitals forward Abby Webster has committed to play for the Olds College Broncos this fall.
“I’m excited to be a Bronco as this is a school I’ve wanted to go to for quite some time now, and being able to play a higher level of hockey as well as furthering my education is really exciting for me,” says Webster.
Webster attended Ecole St. Patrick High School in Yellowknife and Prince George Secondary School.
She participated in the Arctic Winter Games in 2014, 2016 and 2018 and won bronze, gold and silver medals for hockey.
“The addition of Abby to our lineup gives our team a boost in size and strength, both offensively and defensively, as her style of play creates time and space for her teammates,” says Head Coach Chris Leeming.
“Furthermore, Abby strengthens our leadership core as she served as an assistant captain on her past team and aims to lead by example through determination and character.”
Webster will be studying Sports Management at the college in the fall.
