There are three confirmed official candidates in the upcoming election for Dene National/Assembly of First Nations Regional Chief, NWT.
They are Richard Edjericon, Eileen Marlowe and Norman Yakeleya.
The position is dual role; whoever is elected will act as both the Dene National Chief and the AFN Regional Chief for the NWT.
The date of the 48th Dene National Assembly at West Point First Nation near Hay River has been changed from mid-July to August 20 – 24, 2018. The election will take place during the Assembly on Wednesday, August 22.
The successful candidate will serve a three year term as the voice for the Dene Nation on issues affecting their collective regions.
