Public boat launch to be installed Friday

The City of Yellowknife will install the floating docks at the public boat launch in Old Town on Friday.

The boat launch is at the intersection of Franklin Avenue, McDonald Drive and Weaver Drive, and the docks are removed every winter.

Crews will also remove the ice skirt under the McMeekan Causeway which is put in place in the fall to promote ice formation and thereby providing safe passage for pedestrians and snow machines.
