Two of them are now out, and were both person-caused.

The third fire is currently under control, and is just under two hectares in size. It is 20 km southwest of Fort Liard, just off the Liard River.  Two crews worked on the fire over the weekend, and the fire is expected to be out today.

The fire was caused by lightning and was first detected on May 22.

All three fires occured in the Dehcho region of the territory, and a total of 3 hectares of land have been affected by fires this year.

To report a forest fire call 1-877-NWTFIRE  (698-3473).
