Compost sale this weekend

The City of Yellowknife and Ecology North are hosting a compost sale this weekend.

The compost will cost $5 per 20 litre pail, with a maximum of ten pails per order.

The City says the compost is “produced locally and meets industry standards, made with organics collected from households participating in the Yellowknife Centralized Compost Program.” The Program has diverted more than 1500 tonnes of organics from the landfill since its start in 2014.

The compost sale will take place on Saturday, from 10:00am – 12:00pm (noon), at the Solid Waste Facility. Attendees are asked to bring their own container.

If you would like to order more than 10 pails, contact the Solid Waste Facility by emailing [email protected] or calling (867) 669-3406 to set up an appointment.
