INF closes northern ice crossing

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ Department of Infrastructure has officially closed the Peel River ice crossing.

The GNWT advised NWT residents in the northwest on Thursday that the ice crossing was closing. The River crosses the NWT-Yukon border, and the crossing is close to residents in the Fort McPherson area.

INF said of the crossing, “low clearance vehicles are not recommended.”
