Downtown YK restaurant owners: your dream patio awaits you

The City of Yellowknife is continuing it’s Sidewalk Patio and Public Washroom incentive programs.

Restaurant owners in the downtown area can apply for up to $10 000 towards installing sidewalk patios. Likewise, qualifying landlords within Yellowknife can apply for a $500 grant for providing public access to washrooms.

This will be the second year for the City’s incentives. Last year, Birchwood Cafe received a brand new patio, and Twist and Shout co-owners Jason Perrino and Colin Snow both received $500 grants.

Deputy Mayor Adrian Bell hopes to see more restaurants apply heading into year #2.

Both incentives were introduced by Council in 2017 as a five year project free of cost for eligible businesses. It would be great to see the number of participants increase each year.
