AWG 2018 comes to a close, NWT finishes 5th

The Arctic Winter Games have come to a close!

The Games held their closing ceremonies in Hay River on Saturday.

Alberta North held strong throughout the week, finishing first with 133 medals The Northwest Territories came in fifth with 102.

Athletes from Greenland also had a bit of a hiccup after the Games when a bus went off the road into a ditch along Highway 3. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The next Arctic Winter Games will take place in 2020. Whitehorse will be the host.
