NWT Alert Ready system test scheduled for tomorrow morning

Attention Moose FM listeners, your morning at work might sound a little different tomorrow.

The Government of the Northwest Territories will be running another NWT Alert Ready test. The alert tests are being ran for the Alert Ready system, which will be used to notify listeners during emergencies and disasters. The GNWT expects the full implementation of the system for 2019.

The tests are run up to five times per year to help plan for a safe and secure future for residents during emergencies.

Moose FM listeners will notice a loud sound right at 9:55am on Wednesday. Scheduled broadcasts will begin immediately afterward.
