NWT On The Land Collaborative continues to grow

The NWT On The Land Collaborative will be giving out another record amount of grants.

This year, the Collaborative will see it’s pot of funds raise from $634,845 last year to $1 million this year.

That money will be granted to 48 projects that focus on connecting the territory’s residents to the land, culture and surrounding community.

The now four year collaborative has seen it’s pot grow each and every year, with the average grant increasing from $11 000 in 2016 to $21 000 this year for 2018.

Meghan Etter, Community Advisor for the Inuvialuit Settlement Region said, in a statement, that the growth of the Collaborative is unexpected, but that she’s excited moving forward.

Four years ago when the Collaborative was just an idea, I never imagined in such a short time we’d have a million dollars in the bank to put towards programming.

According the NWT On The Land Collaborative, in addition to financial support, funded projects may also receive equipment, training, and program support.
