UPDATE: Power restored in YK

A Summit is bringing together Indigenous government leaders and representatives, health system leaders and experts beyond discussions, into what leaders across the far North say could transform the current health care system. Organizers say that insights emerging from the summit and an immersive exhibit will be mobilized to shape the Primary and Community Health Care Framework, to be released Spring 2026.

Yellowknife RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in the early morning of January 20th

The City of Yellowknife has begun Phase 2 of water testing in municipal buildings. The tests were begun because of elevated levels of lead reported in water at local schools. The first phase of testing detected dangerous levels of lead in 4 of the tested buildings.  

A 28-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a pair of alleged robberies on the weekend. 

Two people are in custody in Hay River after Mounties seized allegedly prohibited firearms and other weapons.
