RCMP reminds residents to lock up your belongings

As the Winter season starts to dwindle a little here in the month of February, Yellowknife RCMP have issued a statement telling residents to lock their vehicles.

The RCMP says that many people are calling in reporting their vehicles being rifled through.

Cst. Heather Cosenzo adds that your items are far less likely to be stolen if your vehicle is locked at night.

It’s important that all suspected break in’s, to residences, outbuildings, or vehicles be reported to the police so that we have information on when and where these issues are occurring. You may feel it’s not important as there isn’t much damage or a low monetary value, but collectively, that information will assist us in our investigative process.

However, if you have any information regarding any car hopping, contact the RCMP at 867-669-11-11.
