Open house for Kam Lake sewage issue

The City of Yellowknife will be hosting an open house to discuss the sewage issue in the Kam Lake area.

Last month, a sewage main had ruptured, causing a flood along Kam Lake Road. While the broken main was fixed later that day, the open house is to discuss the following clean up.

The City has said in previous statements that they are working hard to plan the best way to remove any remaining sewage.

Mayor Mark Heyck stated:

The City takes all spills very seriously and will continue to work with other levels of government and Kam Lake property owners to ensure there are no lasting effects.

The open house is scheduled for February 13 at 7 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chamber.
